Hi,

No, but you don't have numbers either. The download statistics for MDB2 vs PDO are bogus and your claim that PDO-based package will only reach "25-30%" of developers isn't based even on bogus statistics, just handwaving. The hard facts and numbers is that 95.7% of PHP developers are stupid and 96.3% of them are unable to do their own research, so they'll use whatever is bundled. The number of downloads of PEAR::DB vs PEAR::MDB2 shows that nicely: the former was bundled with PHP and has several times more downloads.Sure, I'm using facts and numbers, but yes you could "assume" that since PHP bundles PDO with it, then it is there more often. Got numbers to prove that it's actually used more than MDB2?Michael, "PDO is the way PHP is getting?" I'd sure love to see that but I'm sorry that the numbers say something else: PDO statistics: 104 692 downloads http://pecl.php.net/package-stats.php?pid=335&rid=&cid=7 MDB2 statistics: 384 232 downloads http://pear.php.net/package-stats.php?pid=279&cid=7 And more ? Some software have MDB2 bundled. These numbers are irrelevant as PDO is bundled with PHP. And if you compare download numbers of PHP with those of MDB2, I'd bet the outcome will be a bit different.
