As a reminder, unlike PEAR, in PEAR2 the final name is not set in stone
until the package hits stable 1.0.0, so this decision can be deferred
until then. In addition, no debate need happen on the package's
acceptance until it is ready to be declared stable - PEAR2 has an
incubator (http://svn.pear.php.net/PEAR2/sandbox) which is designed for
alpha code where drastic changes can be made prior to the first stable
release. All that is required to get started there is an email to
pear-dev saying "I want to start a PEAR2 package, module XXX and my svn
username should be blahblah"
PEAR2 is very close to an official announcement, it's an exciting time :).
