Michael Gauthier (http://pear.php.net/user/gauthierm) has commented on the proposal for Tools and
Utilities::Linux_Debian_Apt.
Comment:
Christian,
The PackageKit project at http://www.packagekit.org/ is a
project to unify
the interface of several distro package managers. Perhaps when it matures,
System_PackageKit could wrap around the PackageKit command line utility and
then you'd get multiple backend support for free.
Until that day, I think a package focused on apt is a better idea.
