What is the naming convention WRT abbreviations in names? Most packages write them in all caps, e.g. HTTP_Request, XML_Query2XML, Net_FTP, Net_LDAP etc. In order to follow this convention, shouldn't the class be named Image_JPEGMarkerReader?
You know I'm not so sure about this. It makes it hard to separate words when using bumpy caps.
I agree :-) That's why I treat abbreviations as regular words in the camel case used in my own code (e.g. Foo_Url, Foo_Http_Request etc.). This also solves the question whether an acronym like SOAP is considered a word or an abbreviation. But generally I think that all PEAR packages should follow the same convention. Christian
