I do really appreciate the effort. Let me apologize, I didn't mean to
belittle your, or anyone else', work and contributions. That's a
miscommunication on my part.
Further more, it's great that PEAR offers a DBAL which uses the
features of current PHP versions. :-)
I wanted to say that generally IMHO (very humble ;-)) MDB3 would have
been the correct move. And if that move entails that development of
MDB2 ceases, then that would make sense to me as well. I didn't imply
or expect you to maintain two of those beasts.
My "easy" referred to creating the new package MDB3 by replacing the
"2" with "3". To mark a clean BC break between versions.
