[req] pear snapshots

I think it would be nice if there were pear snapshots available. Considering the problems with working from a checked out pear directory, snapshots would make things much easier. The snapshots could either include the standard (cvs: php4/pear/*) packages, or just be an overlay using just the pear repository (cvs: pear/*). It would make my life much easier if I could say: $ cd /usr/local/lib/php $ fetch -o - http://snaps.php.net/pear-latest.tar.gz | tar -zxf - And perhaps someday one might even be able to say: $ cd /usr/local/lib/php $ fetch -o - http://snaps.php.net/pear-STABLE-latest.tar.gz | \ tar -zxf - Is anyone familiar with how (where) the php4 snaps are created and such? Perhaps there could be a similar cron job on the same box that would make pear snaps. Would it be possible for pear snaps to go on snaps.php.net? -James
