PEAR and PHPLib compatibility?

Hello,
Well, I'm using some stuff from PEAR for developing a website, and I'm thinking I *might* want to use PHPLib for user authentication/permission management. Anyone have any experience trying to use the two libraries together? Any *gotchas* that I should know about?
Basically, I'm using HTML_QuickForm_Controller for managing some forms, in conjunction with Renderer_ITStatic. I'm interested in using PHPLib's user authentication code (the PEAR::Auth module is too simplistic, and LiveUser, which I have some interest in, seems like it might be a little bit too new - it's still alpha in the main PEAR module repository).
