Hi, Greg, Thanks for the tip, but this is happening from go-pear.php which overwrites all the install files each time it's run, so no chance to alter the script as each time I click "install" it just downloads pear.php again. So, I've yet to get the web version to install. My original post said I didn't think go-pear.php was even looking at the include path: Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'PEAR.php' (include_path='/C:\DOCUME~1\Jman\LOCALS~1\Temp\gopDF.tmp') in c:\program files\easyphp1-7\www\go-pear\Archive\Tar.php on line 21 I opened up gopDF.tmp and it was empty. Yes, the currently logged in user has complete and unfettered access to the hard drive, so permissions shouldn't be the problem. It still sounds like the web installer is not reading php.ini. Unfortunately I don't know enough about how PHP searches for things to hazard a guess as to where the trouble might be. Will have to keep slogging away as you suggested. ;) "Greg Beaver" <cellog@php.net> wrote in message news:411E266B.9050103@php.net... > Carl Pearson wrote: > > > Hi, Justin, > > > > Sorry, not sure what you mean by "put phpinfo in one of your scripts". > > Running it through the browser reports: > > > > Configuration File (php.ini) Path > > c:\program files\easyphp1-7\apache\php.ini > > > > > > Further on down we see: > > > > include_path .;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\go-pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\php;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\php\pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\php\pear\pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\pear;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\pear\pear;c:\winnt > > .;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\go-pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\php;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\php\pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\php\pear\pear;C:\Program > > Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\pear;C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-7\www\pear\pear;c:\winnt > > > > It looks to me that you are trying to set your include_path to > [prefixstuff]/pear/pear when it should be [prefixstuff]/pear.
