Hi, All,
Think I got it figured out, but first, a clarification:
Is the PEAR web front-end not actually a browser interface to PEAR, but just
a GUI method for installing it?
If so, am wondering 1) Why it even exists, since one still requires the
command line to actually use PEAR, and 2) Is anyone working on such a
browser interface to PEAR package maintenance?
If not, then I'm still confused. (Unfortunately, an event which occurs far
too often). ;)
The web install did finally work. Believe my earlier problems may have lain
with php.ini's location on my WinDoze box. Thank you, MicroSloth!
I moved it to where php.exe lives and things got a lot happier. (I also
uninstalled easyphp 1.7 and re-did apache, php, mysql, perl & php from
scratch with current binaries).
Thanks again for all the replies!

Right now I'm having amnesia & deja vu at the same time. I think I've
forgotten this before.
