I just know that the structure i'm using is not perfect at the moment and needs to be changed. I'll make changes to my app. as soon as possible, but since my time is quite limited (by my boss) at the time being, i try to gather as many advices as possible before i keep on developping.
Yes, but it seems that you have gone on a route that seems to have given more work...
In my opinion, the biggest error in my "app" at the moment is the loop that sends the emails, since every Mail::send call using SMTP driver makes a new connection to the SMTP server then disconnects. In my situation, 3500+ connections / disconnections are made. It looks like if i give the Mail::send function an array as a parameter, there will be one connection, 3500 messages sent, then one disconnection. I assume it will be much faster.
Why you need to send separate messages to every user? Are they personalized? If not, that seems to be your biggest mistake. -- Regards, Manuel Lemos
