MDB->getDateValue() problem

Hi! When I use getDateValue() to get a Date-String to insert into the DBMS, the function returns exactly the same string which I passed to it. It seems that the function does nothing at all! In fact it seems to me that it should be overriden by the appropriate function in the DB-specific-part but it isn't. The manual describes the function as "Convert a text value into a DBMS specific format that is suitable to compose query statements.". Maybe someone can give me a hint what happened to getDateValue() or what I'm doing wrong! Thanks, Michael
