After two days of trying I found out about : pear help from there pear uninstall xxxxxx all modules then pear install xxxx all modules I need for horde I got here by figuring out that the pear.bat script runs the command line version of PHP passing in a script called pear.in and that script loads all the programs needed to do everything! Lynx, links or what ever the command line version of php is...... I have SuSE 8.1 but so far I haven't found what they renamed it to. In fact I just finished installing Yost, SuSE is history... The pear.cmd file that works for me: @ECHO OFF set PHP_PATH=c:\php4\cli set BIN_DIR=c:\php4 set PEAR_PATH=c:\php4\pear set PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR=c:\php4 set PEAR_DOC_DIR=c:\php4\pear\docs set DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR=\ %PHP_PATH%\php.exe -q %PEAR_PATH%\scripts\pear.in %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 While installing PHP I ALWAYS move the needed dll's into the apache directory along with php.ini, this makes upgrading php a snap and it works. I found a pear.ini file in my %SYSTEMROOT% directory (C:\WINDOWS) and I found that pear is using my system defined tmp directory as D:\\TMP I found a directory called pear and some files so I guess it works. What does the PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR do? Is this the same as extensions directory for PHP? Is there ANY examples on how to use some of these classes? I tried: <?php require_once 'Net/Whois.php'; $res = Net_Whois::query('jaga.us'); foreach($res as $key=>$value) { Print("$key: $value"); } ?> NaN - I got no clue... Kevin.
