PEAR::Mail Date not added in the headers

When using Pear::Mail with a remote smtp server (running qmail) it seemed like the Date part of the emailheader is not added. Is this something Pear should solve or something the mailserver should add to the email or something the php developer should add.
Quick solve is to add the Date part to the email headers like this:
$mailheaders['Date']=date("D , d M Y H:i:s O");
