Well, personally I'm a bit puzzled. Maybe we should say this was really the last time we let things like this slip through? I don't want to stand here as the big show-stopper (sorry Harry), but to me it sounds like some things went wrong. I see that there were only quite minor changes in general. However, no longer extending from PEAR might be an issue for some people. And the package has been stable before, so it might already been widely in use. Since there is no PEAR-QA-team yet, let's wait if one of the people currently in charge thinks it's worth pulling the release. @Harry: Current rules state that a new major should become it's own package, so to be able for all future major releases to coexist and not break apps relying on one or the other.
Well the thing is we dont yet have an official QA team. But more importantly we are missing the necessary means to prevent stuff like this technically. All of the problems should be addressed inside pearweb really. Unfortunately people dont seem to follow regulation updates. A reality we have to accept it seems. We now have 68 downloads. I would like to pull the release but I also dont want to make the decision on my own. Cipri seems to favor pulling the release as well. Stefan is a little less sure. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07
