It's mentioned in most of the end-user documentation (for PECL
extensions that have it), though.

And I agree with Wez: you've made some good points, but unless you're
willing to DO something about it, what do you expect to prove by
complaining?
If I were Matthew, I'd probably feel discouraged to bother with any more
PECL contributions. I hope he doesn't.
