Manuel, the bottom line is that you usually show up, make an insulting post, make references to how phpclasses.org does it right and then complain about being the injured party when people respond to tell you that you're not really helping. I'm not victimizing you here, I'm just letting you know how you come across when you post to the php mailing lists. When you list the positive things that you've done, you've omitted the list various flames and overly long threads that you've either started or been involved in steering off course to nowhere except pain, and also that as a direct result of this, you're the only person (non-spammer) ever to have been banned from one of our mailing lists. If you weigh that against the positive things you've done, it's easy to see why we "forget" them--because they're drowned out by the not so positive things. If you can keep that firmly in mind when you next post, and think about how to stop that happening next time, I think everyone will be happier. As for your suggestions; yes they're nice ideas, but a critical problem we have right now is that nobody has time to do anything about it. When I invoke the "patch is better than words" clause, it's not an excuse, it's a plea--nobody has time to argue with you (especially since you are so good at it), and if you spent that time on a patch instead, even if it needs modifying, everyone is already one step closer to making things better. In the meantime, if someone out there does have some time to devote to peclweb, I'd love to hear from you. --Wez.
