make test 2>&1 | less will allow you to view the output on your own schedule. When the test doesn't segfault, by a simple sapi/cli/php -f path/to/tests/file.php you might be looking at shell limits, rather then actual errors.
Duh, why didn't I think of that? Just for grins I ran "make test" as root, and it's still cored. (But I *STILL* can't find one test where it happens.) The system throws a mesasage into the messages file when it cores, so I suppose I could compare the pid numbers of the tests to figure out which one was running at the time of the core...
Hmm. Cores are rerouted through syslog. Can you find an entry in /etc/syslog.conf that would match it? Just add '*' to the list of destinations, so it gets 'walled'. Enable mesg -y though. A good bet at the failing tests would be: find . -name "*.out" -size 0c -print
Is anyone else out there testing 4.3.0-pre2 on a 64-bit platform? I'd like to know if this is FreeBSD specific, or if it happens on other 64-bit platforms...
Similar issues with arrays have been noticed on Tru64 Compaq, by Sebastian Nohn. Last time I tried AIX with 64 arch, it also failed. It's about time I tested AIX again :)
I guess I should just be happy that it's working at all... Look at some of the results I'm getting from the tests: -- Testing uasort() -- array(7) { [0]=> float(-0.33333333333333) ["-2147483648"]=> array(2) {
    [0]=>
    string(6) "banana"
    [1]=>
    string(6) "orange"
} ["test"]=> int(27) [17]=> string(27) "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor" [5]=> string(4) "Test" [2147483648]=> string(6) "monkey" [2147483647]=> string(4) "test" } --EXPECT-- -- Testing uasort() -- array(7) { [-2147483648]=> float(-0.33333333333333) ["-2147483648"]=> array(2) {
    [0]=>
    string(6) "banana"
    [1]=>
    string(6) "orange"
} ["test"]=> int(27) [0]=> string(3) "PHP" [17]=> string(27) "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor" [5]=> string(4) "Test" [2147483647]=> string(4) "test" } That's not even close! :)
That has been failing on 64-bit archs, a long time now :( Met vriendelijke groeten / With kind regards, Webmaster IDG.nl Melvyn Sopacua
