Rather than building custom tools and customizing the format away from
standard Markdown (well, "a" standard markdown), would it be worth
while simply making the (relatively) small leap to ReST at this point?
The majority of the syntax will remain the same. And it would support
cross-references and foot-notes and all that good stuff. And it would
avoid hacks like prefixing filenames with numbers...
If that's a direction we want to go in, I'd gladly work on the
migration. I just want to be sure it's a direction we want to go in
first :-)
