It seems to me then that if it is included with PHP then this is where our point of contention lies. You're effectively adding to PHP what PHP already has. Why not just make it a separate entity altogether and be done with it? You could even add support for other languages. Think of it as the Zend of templates! :) -Darrell -----Original Message----- From: Andrei Zmievski [mailto:andrei@ispi.net] Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2000 3:32 PM To: Darrell Brogdon Cc: John Coggeshall; Zeev Suraski; Tom; danda@epinions-inc.com; php-template@lists.php.net; php3@lists.php.net Subject: Re: [PHP Template] Re: [PHP3] Re: [PHP Template] Re: [PHP3] PHP Template Engine spec revision 0.52 On Tue, 21 Mar 2000, Darrell Brogdon wrote: > But as I understand it, this template engine is intended to be provided with > PHP as opposed to FastTemplate and the like which are separate downloads. > If I'm wrong about this then I apologize. It may or may not be provided with PHP. If it is provided, but you don't want to use it, there are still other options, as you point out (FastTemplate and phplib). -Andrei * The great thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from. *
