: What is the general feeling about people trying to keep their code secret?
:
: I mean, here is PHP, an awesome tool that is open source, as well as
: apache, and all the libs and helpers and API all just given to us for the
: common good. And then there are peoplke who want to use those free and
: open tools to create closed and proprietary programs. If PHP and Apache
: were like that then hardly any of us would even be here.
:
: To me it seems rude to try to lock up your code.
: What does anyone else think?
I'll hire you for a HUUUUUUGE project, when you're done, I'll just say:
Since PHP is free, you ought to give the program for free, so give all
the work I contracted you for, for free and you can keep your headers
in the script. Nice?
You'd want to protect it, when you are contracted to do it! With
particular specs, with particular time-period and of course particular
money! ;-)
BTW, are commercials apps prohibited to be done in PHP?
In other words, are you prohibited to make some money off your
work, time and of course freeware PHP?
Thank you!
Faisal
