I am curious to know if there are plans to "regularise" database calls in PHP so that it
is simpler to port a PHP application from one database to another.
For instance Mysql and Postgresql have very similar PHP calls, but Oracle is completely
different.
I guess I am thinking of Perl DBI where you can always do "$handle->fetchrow_array()"
no matter what the database actually is.
Cheers
