Hello Lukasz,

Honestly I don't see what's the sense of taking some data to generate XML
from it and then generate HTML from the XML data, even less doing that at
page serve needlessly overloading the server. Why don't you generate HTML
or if you prefer XHTML (XML compliant HTML) directly?
No - you take XML file, XSL stylesheets, grab some data from a database
(updated often - no need to cache, all files are relatively small and there
is few of them - no overloading) and produce HTML. How can I do this ? It's
rather important to me :-) Cheers, Lukasz
To do what you want you need a XML/XSL processor. I don't know any in PHP, but
PHP 4 will be able to interface with Java classes that can do that.
Anyway, I still see little point in transforming data from database into
XML to have it transformed into HTML, instead of transforming the data in
the database to HTML directly like any PHP database application does.
One reason would be that you're storing data *as XML* in the database,
for example, because it doesn't fit neatly into rows and columns and
it makes more sense to represent it as an XML document.
