No, unfortunately you're not too late. I still can't get it working.
But from your configs, it appears that you're doing a static build, rather
than using the dso/apxs install (you have a --with-apache flag instead
of a --with-apxs flag... I believe they are mutually exclusive).
Rasmus, I wonder if you're the only one with a working dso install
of php4-RC1 under solaris?? I have since seen other reports of
difficulty with the dso install, but no success reports.
Should I stop banging my head on this one? If not, it would help
if I could see somebody's config flags and gcc/ld/make version info
to compare with mine.
Anyone care to respond in an "official" capacity?
Joey, thanks for the response.

Can I get you to forward me your apache and php configure flags, and let me know what versions of gcc, make, ld, and so on you're running? I am still unable to get it working. Thought I found the answer when I saw that the shell I used to do the builds had LD_LIBRARY_SET, but alas after unsetting and rebuilding, I get the same ap_block_alarms: referenced symbol not found In case anyone might see an obvious problem, the solaris box I am building this on is running gcc 2.8.1 ld 2.9.1 make 3.78.1 Thanks again.
