Okay!!! Finally! I have a working copy of the dso version of php4 and
apache 1.3.12, under SunOS 5.6 (I believe that's the same as Solaris 2.6)
I was getting the "referenced symbol not found" error
when apache tried to do the LoadModule at startup time.
In my case, I finally got it working by using a different version/install
of gcc. I was using 2.8.1, now I'm using 2.95.2
It's still puzzling though, since one person did report it working with
2.8.1. However they were using ld 2.9.1 and I was using 2.9.5. Subtle
interaction somewhere? Who knows, but it sure cost a lot of lost sleep.
Anyway, on to better things now. Phew. Hopefully this might help some
of the others having this problem.
