In any case, we really haven't been able to debug this Win32 problem. The binaries work for most people but quite a few report not even being able to get them running. It is pretty strange and probably has something to do with differences of the system. Different .dll's or something.
If you could get a compiler and try and see if a version you compile on your own works that would help out to a certain degree.

There is a very stable version 3 out there with loads of support. We appreciate the bug reports for the beta releases and the more people that try them, the better, but please don't expect them to always work and don't get too upset when they don't work. There is a reason we are still in beta. -Rasmus -- Point taken and already understood.
