My post was approved, and I saw it on the www.php.net mirror: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e317/Ultimater/screenshots/phpnetscreenshot.png http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php#103698 Now I look back and I don't see my post anymore. I'm clueless as to what was wrong with the post. I've followed the guidelines to the best of my knowledge and I'd like to know for future reference if I've misunderstood some sort of policy. Approving my post and making me think my post was ok then deleting it an hour or few hours later is what bugs me the most as it is quite unethical to accept my post only to delete it again so I am left in the dark as to what happened without any form of contact. Past experience has taught me that php.net emails us when our posts are removed. I received no such notice after my post was removed. Thus I didn't get a copy of the deleted post sent to my email like the site usually does. Lucky I kept the link open for several hours when I put my computer in hibernate mode as I left for work so I had a copy of the post. When adding a note to the page there is a paragraph which reads: *User notes may be edited or deleted, and usually a note is deleted because of the following reasons: * Bugs. Instead report a bug for this manual page to the bug database. * Missing documentation. Also, report that as a bug. * Support questions. See the support page for available options. In other words, do not ask questions within the user notes.* Can you fill me in as that which of these reasons applied to my post. My post wasn't a bug report nor was it a question. I've also submit a previous post before this one before trying again at it and it didn't have any of the above mention issues either. I think the editor didn't read my post very closely and just assumed I was posting an issue or question for people to solve but I was actually stating that someone's code didn't work and I was offering revision code to replace the person's code which didn't work. Here is a copy of my previous similiar note which was not approved: Your note has been removed from the online manual. ----- Copy of your note below ----- I'm having trouble getting jeff at kingdesk dot com's code to work -- PHP's eval function is slightly different from what you learn in JavaScript's -- although the concept is good. $e->val can also be replaced with $eval like so: <?php $eval='evaluate'; function evaluate($str) { return eval("return $str;"); } echo "2 + 2 = {$eval('2+2')}"; ?>
