Hi, Here is the latest mockup, it considers some of the suggestions: http://wojak.u.bitbit.net/20110721_manual.png http://wojak.u.bitbit.net/20110721_manual.xcf How it does it look now?
Hi Wojak, it looks good! A huge improvement over the current prototype. A few questions:
Hi and Thank you.
- How do you plan to do the overlapping lines around 'code' and 'note' in the upper-right corner of the boxes? CSS only?
I'm not sure if the overlapping lines is a good idea, I was going to find something simpler, maybe it should be underlined instead? in this case the best is to do it in CSS only.
- Are you using a monospace font for the code? It looks variable width to me, but should probably be fixed. It is Sans, should be fixed if is variable.
- The vertical padding in the parameters box looks like it could be reduced. Totally agree, basically paddings need a small improvement.
- Where do you plan to put the language selector? There are a couple of other elements missing from the mockup such as prev/next page, edit, report a bug, etc. We should find a place for these or make the case for removing them.
The mock-up is made with Gimp/Inkscape only for now, what I suggest is that I can start making css/html template and at the same time doing the improvements (with font, padding, margins, place holders for missing elements). I have a few ideas where to locate things but do not have any strong opinion yet, I need a short while to think about it.
- Do you plan on doing more work on the sidebar?
Yes, I'm working on it meanwhile.
In any case, I think we should look at implementing this. Is the mockup in photoshop, or have you already done the css/html? Have you talked to Hannes about getting karma to submit?
When I saw him last time he has mentioned about karma to submit, but I haven't got it yet, I will talk to him tomorrow to agree details.
Thanks, Stew
