I've spend many hours modifying the plugin core to add in some important
callbacks to allow us to easily customize the behaviour of the plugin at
different stages.
If you type in 'a' you will see the custom found descriptions for 'abs' and
'acos' items.
It's still to be created how we will use XHR to get the descriptions
dynamically from the backend as pre-populating truncated descriptions will
be too heavy on the .js file size .
My preview is hosted at: http://digiflexdev.com/php/2010/
If you compare the popup autocomplete to the original one hosted at
http://prototype.php.net/ you will see differences of offset
changes,
descriptions and clickThrough option to the manual.
There are various new callback options available to the plugin.
*left_offset, right_offset, resultsSelector, preDisplayItems*
The dynamic offset calculation works in IE 6,7,8. Firefox (latest),
Chrome(latest), all on Windows.
There are comments next to each config option in the common.js source file.
These new callback options will allow us to have it looking more like

Comments always welcome.
Cheers.
