ID: 18374 Updated by: sniper@php.net Reported By: rtwick@utkalika.org -Status: Open +Status: Verified Bug Type: Compile Failure Operating System: Redhat Linux 7.2 PHP Version: 4.3.0-dev New Comment: When --disable-rpath is used, the compile fails (a bit differently, depending which configure options are used) Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-17 17:03:49] sniper@php.net So the real reason for this failure was that you had runpaths disabled..I will test this myself now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-17 15:40:01] rtwick@utkalika.org I upgraded automake, libtool and autoconf. But still got the same problem. However, I removed the --disable-rpath from the configure options and got a clean compile. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-17 13:52:13] sniper@php.net So you did NOT do './cvsclean' ??? That's very important.. If that doesn't make any difference, try updating libtool to 1.4.2 and automake to 1.5 (I have those and everything works :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-17 13:49:07] rtwick@utkalika.org I'm sorry, the t1lib was actually specified with --with-t1lib=/usr/local not --with-t1lib=/usr/local/lib. Each time I run configure, I get fresh copy from cvs using the following commands cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository login cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository co php4 and then do a buildconf followed by configure and make. Here's my output from build/buildcheck.sh buildconf: checking installation... buildconf: autoconf version 2.13 (ok) buildconf: automake version 1.4-p5 (ok) buildconf: libtool version 1.4 (ok) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-17 13:34:00] sniper@php.net Using '/usr/local/lib' with ANY configure option does not work and might sometimes cause this kind of unpredictable results. The latest CVS should not suffer from this though.. I hope you remembered to delete config.cache between your configure tests...as that's propably why you got the same error when you removed --with-t1lib and added other one. Did you get the sources from CVS or from a snapshot? If you got them from CVS, what does build/buildcheck.sh output ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
