OK, apparently I'm used to non-standard mailing lists. If there were
something consistant a filter could test for, then I could reduce the flood
in my inbox somewhat. (This is non-trivial. I've caught myself starting to
delete client e-mails because they were mixed in with mailing list
messages.) And the suggestions on shortcuts in the Contact folder will give
me a consistent way to respond to the list.
Is it possible to ensure that php-db@lists.php.net is always in the To line?
Or will that cause problems also?

Well, there's hardly *any* mailing lists that show the list address in the
"From:" header - only in digest lists could this be possible [otherwise,
how would you know where the message came from??]. I've been running ~20
lists for the past 4 years [as well as subscribe to about 50], and the
typical standard is to list the To: header with the list address [since
the e.mail is going *to* the mailing list], with the From: header showing
the person who posted the message.
In my lists, any other address in the header is stuck into the CC: header
[ie: if a message is CC'd to my list and 4 other people, I put my list
address the To: header and the rest of the addresses in the CC: header; i
do not use a Reply-To header except for one moderated list i run].
If the php lists could always list the @lists.php.net in the To: header,
then I think the folks who have been complaining would be happy.
