You're a brave man. Some days ago I had to drop using PEAR's DB
abstraction layer for a project because it didn't seem to work at the
time, and I couldn't find authoritative docs.
However, PEAR-DB seems to have some nice features (like the URL-like
connection specification).
What docs I could find, in addition to looking at the source:

Chuck, have you found documentation about the DB abstraction in PEAR not
mentioned above?
