Hu? I think you have some kind of misconception here.
In common speech, if one asks for the IP of a certain host, he
wants to see the A (=address) record. Your question was "how do I
retrieve an A record for a domain in PHP?"
I suppose you mean host instead of domain (www.php.net is a host,
and php.net is its domain), and then gethostbyname does what you
asked for.
If that is not what you want, please tell us what you need.
