I don't know enough about it to be able to say that it definitely needs
fixing, but I can say that it doesn't appear to be working properly for
all lookups.
I sent a test email to testuser@e-na.net to see if my mail server could
find it and it connected and sent the email ok, so it's going to be hard
to convince them there's something not quite if smtp servers connect ok.

It can, depending on the hostnames of the machines and the records
present in the DNS, so it's hard to say.

That's how I think it should be - you ask a domain for it's MX record,
and the MX record returns the ip address kept in the MX record - but for
some reason Php (and nslookup too) can't get that for e-na.net

Probably because they're the same IP address - you query to www.e-na.net
and you happen to get the same ip address as mail.e-na.net
When I used nslookup to query the server for type MX on host
mail.e-na.net, it spits out the MX record which does actually appear to
mention "e-na.net" - but still it doesn't seem to work on just e-na.net
It's a bummer because it makes it hard to check from Php unless you know
the exact hostname the MX record appears to be bound to.
