PL2 clearly has a bug. I haven't touched configure.in and I've removed and untarred the source 3 times. This is DEFINITELY a PHP 4.0.1PL2 distribution problem because I can do the following 3 steps in PHP4.0.1RC2 and PHP4.0RC1 with no errors, but in PHP4.0.1PL2 it gives the AM_PROG_LIBTOOL error from buildconf: ./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --enable-track-vars --prefix=/usr/local make ./buildconf are there any automake gurus out there who can give some insight on what this AM_PROG_LIBTOOL error really means? troy@recipezaar.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Robinson" <mgrphp3@cgocable.net> To: "Troy Hakala" <troy@recipezaar.com>; <php-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 10:02 AM Subject: RE: [PHP-DEV] AM_PROG_LIBTOOL error > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Troy Hakala [mailto:troy@recipezaar.com] > > Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 12:33 PM > > To: Wez Furlong; php-dev@lists.php.net > > Subject: Re: [PHP-DEV] AM_PROG_LIBTOOL error > > > > > > i get a similar error: > > > > aclocal: configure.in: 748: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in library > > > > i'm running aclocal version 1.4. > > > > All of this stuff only seems to happen if > configure.in is edited/changed in *any* way. > A stock configure.in from the dist doesn't seem to suffer > from this error. > > .mike >
