By the way are you guys using it as an ISAPI filter or extension? I think the filter is for authentication and you're supposed to run it as a filter :)
Are we all just confusing the names?

Since my debug version of RC6 isapi was proving more reliable than the release binary I downloaded, I've just built a release TS inline version of RC6 and done some testing. It seems to be about as reliable as my debug version - i.e. mainly ok, but occasional 500 server errors on phorum and phpMyAdmin pages (run it for 5 minutes and you'll see about one error per minute, but I can't find a reliable pattern to the failure). Note that with the php4isapi.dll installed as a filter, the error rate seems to roughly double, and also (only when installed as a filter), there is an attempt to write to memory location 0 when the iisadmin service is stopped (the error happens after the w3svc has stopped, but before iisadmin has stopped). So, maybe there was something wrong with the binary I originally downloaded, or maybe the thing is quite unstable and I'm currently in a 'lucky' phase. Even with the levels of reliability I'm currently getting, it's definitely not rugged enough to go anywhere near a production machine, and it would drive me mad even trying to develop on it. This is a great pity, because the performance increase over the cgi version is easy to appreciate! Is anyone else getting better levels of reliability than this? I have had 100% reliablility on my Win 2k Pro server with ISAPI filters, thats not to say I have done a lot with it but I have used it a far amount during testing (although very little data access) I cant seem to get these 500 errors to occur but maybe Im running different types of programs to you.
