I gateway the various PHP mailing lists to a news server on the machine
that sits on my DSL line. If I reply to the list and someone's email via
Netscape, they get to see the Newsgroup line (although the news-to-mail
gateway strips it out so the list doesn't see it).
There's no good reason I'm using a news server rather than an IMAP one
other than I don't really care for any of the IMAP servers out there,
and I like to keep an archive of the mailing lists handy, so a news
server seemed reasonable. And it was an excuse to play with news
stuff. :)

I know the feeling. I've still got my mail going to a couple of
different machines, which can be pretty annoying. I don't even want
to think about the number of forwarding hops some of my addresses
probably go through.
