Hiya.
I'm sorry to bother you, but you might be able to help me (ahhhhhhhh!)
I'm trying to find a web server to host the new kjtoombs.co.uk web site
using PHP4. Trying to find a site to do what I want is a right pain, and I'm
starting to get a little irate.
- What I want is PHP4 (any version) running as mod_php on an Apache (again,
any recent version) Server. OS - don't mind.
- cgi-bin access (not terrible important, but could be useful)
- use of .htaccess, .htpasswd and .htgroup files. AllowOverride would
preferably be set to all (to allow and deny dirs as well as secure
directories).
- MySQL with full admin access (the ability to set up user accounts). I'm
going to be creating accounts to do a very specific task, while the username
& passwords from .htpasswd will be used to allow major write changes to the
database. These will be obtained from $PHP_AUTH_USER and $PHP_AUTH_PW.
- POP3 mailboxes at least 5, but preferably unlimited.
Size, anything over about 50meg would be ideal, and bandwidth isn't a major
problem - 1Gb/pm is fine. This isn't a high access site at the moment
(around 10-30 people per day).
Does this seam like too much to ask for, or should I look in other
directions while I'm creating this site?
Thanks for your help!
