hi i overheard your conversation about dedicated servers and i currently have some space left to place a few dedicated servers. My prices are around $200 a month for the cheapest models and higher if you want to have something big. we currently opperate 4 dedicated serversfor our own websites and we only had 1 hour downtime for those 4 in the last year. our servers are placed in a temperature and humidity controlled and quarded building. and they are connected through a 10mbit upstream/downstream link. If you haven't got the money for a dedicated server than you can still have a low cost sollution on one of our shared servers for just a few dollars a month.. I had the same idea a few years ago and that is why i currently have multiple server in my server farm. My shared servers are xeon 550 with 512mb ecc memory and with a raid configurated 17 gb scsi dirves for safety and backup.. we currently run win2k with asp and php mysql on one server and on the others linux with apache and php. but because the servers are my own i can install anything on them.. (ive got a trieout server at home to trie new software so don't worry about any crashes because of new untested software being installed) just contact me if you want more info: Jan Klopper jan@ever.nl or info@ehost.nl Michael Kimsal wrote: > Cheap is relative, but I see where you're coming from.
