Has anyone ever tried to run a PHP/Apache/MySQL system on one of those Thumb/Pen drive systems. You can get 128MB for $35 now and it just seems like a great way to carry around a demo system to clients. You'd just have to plug it in, run a little bat file to start everything up, and then start browsing your pages. It doesn't seem like it'd be any different than running it off of a hard drive. Has anyone done this? Do you think 128MB is enough? Thanks for any information...Hmm... sounds like a good idea but aren't you suppose to install the servers (web, db) and configure php before you can access the pages? In that case the above would really work unless (1) you're allowed to install the above in their systems, or (2) you have your own little os, programs, scripts, etc. on the "Thumb/Pen drive" that you can run without installing (and provided that you can boot from it)... Not that I've done it but it seems like a "customized" knoppix on cd would be a better idea... or, a Zaurus that you can carry anywhere, connect easily to the clients LAN (thru a LAN card) and easily accessible from their own pc's... - E __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
