It's good introduction to XML and related stuff. It ends with a big
discussion on using XML for ecommerce transactions. It doesn't go really
deep into the technical details of XML but as an application programmer
you don't really need to. If I need more info on XML details I would
just go to the original sources.

I think that if you're a professional programmer (or want to become one)
then I do recommend that you learn XML. XML skills are only going to
become more important/wanted.
