"Liking it better" could potentially be a valid reason in and of
itself, depending on the size of your company/dept/etc.
People who 'like it better' make extra efforts to get the best
performance and elegance out of something. People
who 'like it better' will be more motivated to get stuff done
ASAP. As I've written before tho, you may just be in a
'no win' situation. If you really want to use PHP, find another
company. If enough people left their current positions
over stuff like this, perhaps the 'suits' would change their minds.
THEY don't have to write the code in the first place. Why companies
have this urge to dictate ONLY *one* way of doing something
is a little strange, even tho I understand the need for consistency, etc.
