[Disregard the message I sent a few seconds ago; we're on a more productive path with this one.] This is mainly addressing Rasmus, now... my sincere apologies if I'm being thick-headed (which I've been known to do)... but the archives are only recieving mail... which means they're only subscribers, not contributors... and even so, since they're subscribed, they would be able to post (not that an archive needs to...) And as for NNTP, which is the only real problem I can see at this point, it is my understanding that the news server subscribes to the mailing list (hence how the messages get from the list to the boards...)... are we not able to modify the nntp interface to email from a certain allowed sender and set a reply-to header that would point to the actual sender's email address (as entered)? I don't mean to be a nuissance and I don't assume that you do nothing, Rasmus. I only assume that the group can only do so much, and to make my push for more anti-spam measures stronger, nobody seems to know why we haven't done more. Still, is there nothing more we can do? If there isn't, I'll drop it - there's no point in beating a dead horse... I just wanna make sure it's a dead horse and not something we could improve.
