Heya Anant, I already gave info on compiling from source somewhere... but I'll re-check it all pre-release. Just let's get the thing together at all first, I want the CTree/List stuff out the way. The basic test plan here is to 'hide' everything PHP-GTK related and then try unzipping the thing I expect total strangers to be unzipping into a 'clean' environment. (I learned a lot from putting things on Edin's site, even if I didn't update it.) I'm still not sure whether I need to include PHP itself in the zip file. We have the choice of 5_1 branch, 5_2 branch or 'last stable release' (aka 5.1.4) and I'm not at all sure what to do about that yet. My instinct is to go for 5_2 branch and distribute it as part of the PHP-GTK alpha distribution. I also want to distribute a debug copy of whatever goes out in the distro zipfile. Having the debug version available on doze means you can profile it using good old-fashioned Dependency Walker and get reasonably useful information without having to have MSVC installed. - Steph
We need to have an INSTALL file then which explains how people should build and install PHP-GTK from the tarball.
I just committed a bare-bones INSTALL file to CVS. Please add/delete/modify the instructions on the file to cover more edge cases. Steph: If you think, there are people out there who are crazy enough to compile PHP-GTK 2 from the tarball on Windows, then you could probably add some information specific to that in the INSTALL file :) Cheers, - Anant -- PHP-GTK Development Mailing List (http://gtk.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
