Custom cell-renderers require a whole lot of infrastructure work to set up virtual interfaces and all that good stuff. It's probably going to take several full days of work which I don't have right now. I think we should make a release and then make 2.1 release as soon as we have virtual interfaces and cell-renderer stuff ready. We're already so far behind PyGTK that it's not funny... We thought it would be nice to have custom cell-renderers and cairo support before going in for the final release. We already have custom gtypes and signals support in, and that would make the final release extremely usable. Elizabeth and myself can speed up work on cairo; Elizabeth has picked up a basic OO binding to cairo and we plan on fitting it into the code-generator. As for custom cell-renderers, I haven't had a look at it; perhaps you could evaluate whether it would be worth it? Regards, -- Anant
