Just might be confusing for those who know the glib/gtk api - just to really make things crazy we're using SOME of the g_* functions and some of the gtk_* functions in the C...
It is/was. This sounds like the flame war I had with the D GTK2 people only without the flames or the war. They thought renaming everything was funny. Ugh. The IO watch stuff was the most confusing for me since nothing matched up with the C interface namewise.
...should be marked as deprecated and gobject:: equivalents added...
(There are rumors of axing deprecated stuff starting in 2.12)
Sounds like a good preventative measure then. >_>
