I like release early and often ;) As long as we're not "no new features after release" I'm happy. My only concern then is losing our "change the API for free" card as we hit 2.0 real release territory. Are there any other API changes that need to go in? The grouching was loud enough for the gtype constants. I'm questioning some of the main loop type stuff, some is at gtk level and some is at glib level and some of the gtk level versions are deprecated and...probably just need someone to go over it. Otherwise I think we're set.
The only ones I've really noticed involved the deprecation of some gtk stuff in favor of the (almost) identical glib versions The gtk_timeout_* are deprecated in favor of the glib varieties - since 2.4 The gtk_idle_* are deprecated in favor of the glib varieties since 2.4 The gtk_input_* are deprecated in favor of the glib varieties since 2.4 The GTK_PRIORITY_* constants are deprecated in favor of glib versions In addition, even though the io watch stuff is in the gtk class, it's really from glib... Just might be confusing for those who know the glib/gtk api - just to really make things crazy we're using SOME of the g_* functions and some of the gtk_* functions in the C... (There are rumors of axing deprecated stuff starting in 2.12) Personally I think at the very least the Gtk time/idle/input should be marked as deprecated and gobject:: equivalents added that use the g_* stuff underneath. Anyway my $.02 Thanks, Elizabeth Smith
