I seem to be not quite getting the whole "child packing" thing...
I mean, yeah, the Widgets I pack in there show up...
And, sure, they are at the 'start' or 'end' depending on what I call...
But they're *HUGE* and *UGLY*!
So then I end up trying set_usize, which seems to have no effect, unless I
also call set_child_packing, but then things get all out of alignment, but
only a few inherit from GtkMisc, so I can't even try to align the GtkEntry
boxes with their GtkLabels, and ...
I've spent an awful lot of time messing with a lot of stuff to try and get
a simple input "FORM" in Gtk, and I'm still not feeling like I'm allowed
to be in control of where an object is placed on the screen.
I've got to be doing something fundamentally wrong here, but reading docs
and looking at examples and even running them doesn't seem to help.
It seems like objects only look "pretty" when you cram enough in to force
the other children to squeeze over or...
Can anybody point me to a reference for a good clean way to make things
look like I want? Or tell me where I'm going wrong?
About the only thing I've got looking the way I want (not counting my ugly
artwork) is the circular splash screen. :-v
