I set up everything (?) according to the mirroring-search.php page.
Installed htdig, moved the files to the necessary locations, edited the
virtualhost changed htdig.conf and run rundig.
In the virtualhost I put:
SetEnv HTSEARCH_PROG /usr/local/htdig/bin/htphp.sh
SetEnv HTSEARCH_EXCLUDE "/print/ /printwn/ /manual/howto/ /cal.php"
The paths are correct.
What is the role of php.conf anyway?
Should it be appended to htdig.conf?
Ups, it should be added as a parameter of rundig... This is somehow left out of the docs. Can you please try that out with a "-c php.conf" parameter, as described at
http://www.htdig.org/rundig.html
When I try to run a test I get results ch.php.net and not my mirror.
Search.php tries to guess if you have a local search setup, by searching for HTSEARCH_PROG in the environment, and testing if it is executable. If it is not excutable, then the search will fall back to the default search engine (which is ch.php.net now). So check if HTSEARCH_PROG is an executable file (for Apache)
