Hello,
At risk or appearing as a maniac, as PEAR is about standardization I think it
would be « Good Thing » to have as many template system we want (despite the
fact I use Smarty..) but with a unified variables assignment scheme.
Converting a FastTemplate stuff to a Smarty one was not easy but was doable.
Converting a phplib template stuff to a Smarty one is a nightmare (for me..)
Having a whole bunch of completely different even at the slightest level
templates system will confuse probably more than help.
Having the choice between several systems, with different internal mechanics
but a unified interface with the outside programming word.. would be far better
My 2 cents
