I do think, that making PEAR a kind of BinaryCloud is not
the thing people here wan't to do. PEAR should not be a single
framework, but insted as it essentially means a repository for
standard based PHP related codes (extensions written in C
or classes/functions written in PHP).
But I can really understand your feelings about the lack
of documentation...
